~~~ CARBINE SLING ~~~

This was a belt that was worn over the left shoulder and had a metal hooking device attached to it. This hook would be attached to ring on a slide bar attached to the side of a carbine. This system was used to keep the dragoon from losing his carbine while on horseback and was able it to slide freely along the belt for ease of firing. We wear belts made of white leather and manufacture both the belt and hooks ourselves.
