If stepping back in to the 18 th century sounds like something you would like to do, then we offer several options for getting you started on the journey.
Attending an Event as a Dragoon Visitor
The NWTA allows individuals or families to come out to two events within a one year period under visitor status. As your hosts we would provide you and your family with clothing and tentage (if you so choose to camp with us) just to get a feel of what it's like to step back in time. Organization membership is required after a year and you would then need to provide your own clothing and camp gear.

Anyone can join The First Light Dragoons and we require no unit membership dues at this time. However, if you wish to participate in any of the NWTA sponsored events as part of this unit, you will need to become a paid member of the NWTA organization. Yearly dues are $18.00 for a single membership and $24.00 for a family membership. The membership form is downloadable from the NWTA site.

What is All of This Going to Cost Me?
For new members it is almost impossible to get a complete "kit" together for the very first event. It is important to just get the essentials together and get out on the field and enjoy the hobby. Listed below are the approximate costs of items that will be worn or used by this unit. Not every item will be needed right away, but you should be able to get a good idea of what you can purchase first.

Many of these items can be found and purchased used from other members of this organization or can be borrowed from members that have extras, otherwise all items are available for purchase from our suggested supplier list.
