When did you join the 1st Dragoons?

June of 2009

 

What was the major factor in you joining?

I spent a weekend with the dragoons, and really fell in step with them as a unit and as a family.

 

What do you do in real life?

I work in telecommunications for a major cellular provider in southwest Indiana.

 

What is your favorite aspect of re-enacting the American Revolution?

I wanted to combine two of my great loves in life.  Theatre and History.  By doing living history, I am able to bring to life for others what life and the times were like during the American Revolution better then any history book could do for them.

 

What is your fondest memory from your time with the unit?

Our dragoon family sitting around a campfire after a full day of re-enacting at Cantigny Park; talking with one another as lantern bearing folks walked up and down the lane next to camp, and the camp music of fiddle and drum wafted on the breeze.  I was back in 1777 for a few minutes.  That is my fondest memory.

 

What is a fun fact about yourself?

I was born on July 4th, and that is a huge reason that I have always been interested in the American Revolution.
